Grandes Alpes Summary
Alpe d’Huez is a large modern resort east of Grenoble, on an open, high altitude mountainside with some great skiing and an excellent sports centre, heated outdoor pool and ice rink. Part of the Massif des Grandes Rousses, the resort has a huge variety of terrain with 250km of pisted runs with terrain to suit all standards. It also has the longest black piste in the Alps. Vaujany is a pretty little village at the heart of the Grandes Rousses ski area.
The glacier resort of Les Deux Alpes has 225km of runs and is a real party town renowned for its lively après ski. Les Deux Alpes is situated on the edge of the stunning Ecrins National Park so skiers can enjoy wonderful views from its high, open slopes over the surrounding peaks and mountain scenery.
