Isola 2000 Summary

Isola 2000 is a high, purpose-built resort situated just outside the Mercantour National park, close to the Italian border and less than 100km from the Mediterranean. The resort has a convenient complex of shops, bars, hotels and apartments, and its compact ski area, divided into three sectors, is positioned in a horseshoe shape around the resort’s centre. At the foot of the pistes is a large, sunny beginners’ area, and the laid-back and friendly atmosphere of this resort means it is popular with families.

The resort itself has a selection of bars and restaurants and a couple of nightclubs, as well as all essential amenities such as supermarkets, post office, banks, doctors surgery and sports shops. There is also a choice of activities available off the slopes from dog-sledding to snow-shoeing.

The Domaine Blanc ski area has over forty largely easy and intermediate runs, covering a total distance of 120km. More experienced skiers have some opportunities for off-piste skiing plus four black runs, whilst boarders and freestylers can take advantage of the resort's snow park.
