Courchevel Summary

Courchevel enjoys a reputation as one of the world’s top ski resorts, and offers the most extensive terrain in the Three Valleys. The skiing both on and off the piste is wonderfully varied with plenty of wide, open slopes and some pretty wooded runs lower down. If you decide to venture further afield, the rest of the vast ski area is readily accessible with a Three Valleys Pass. Courchevel is also very popular with snowboarders looking for well-groomed pistes with few drag lifts, and there are two terrain parks for freestyle enthusiasts.

The resort comprises four villages of very different character. Courchevel 1850 is the focal point of the ski area and is also the most chic and cosmopolitan, with an impressive array of boutiques, fine restaurants and trendy nightspots to enhance your holiday experience. The traditional village of Les Praz 1300 is set amongst woodland beside the Olympic ski jump and from here, the road winds up the mountain through the quiet dormitory of Courchevel 1550 and onwards to 1650 which benefits from a good village centre and its own little sector of relatively quiet slopes.

Away from the slopes, there are essential shops at all levels, a couple of markets and a variety of leisure activities. There is a pedestrian lift pass available for the buses and gondolas in Courchevel and Meribel, enabling non-skiers to meet up with family and friends for lunch.
