Les Menuires Summary

A modern, purpose-built resort attracting keen skiers and boarders, Les Menuires is well situated at a height of 1800m with fast and easy access to all the skiing on offer in the Three Valleys. The local La Masse slopes generally have good snow and tend to be less frequented by skiers from other resorts so are often a good place to be on a busy weekend. Les Menuires is perhaps the least well-known and most French of the Three Valley resorts, which generally means mostly uncrowded pistes and shorter queues at the chair lifts. You can also ski the 'Itinéraires du Soleil' (the 'Sunshine Path'), keeping to south and west-facing slopes all day long for maximum sunshine!

It is possible to ski this area on a local pass which covers the lifts in Les Menuires and St Martin de Belleville. There are lots of reds and blues to keep intermediates happy as well as some black runs for more experienced skiers. Freestyle enthusiasts have a terrain park with slides, tables, a pyramid and boardercross. If you buy a Three Valleys pass, there are four links to Meribel and Val Thorens above the resort; Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and is just two lifts away.

There is no shortage of lively après ski in the local bars with a couple of nightclubs for those who wish to dance the night away. Most of the accommodation here is self-catering so there are lots of options for dining out both on and off the slopes, from traditional Savoyard dishes to fast food. It has a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops, a well-equipped sports centre (with indoor swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi, hammam, sauna and squash court), outdoor swimming pool, cinema, night clubs and an ice skating rink.
